I like your comment on Barry's sangha talk. Once I saw a sheikh's garage with 200 fancy cars & I thought, oh my gosh this fellow's never going to get out of the cycle of birth & rebirth. He'll want to return again & again. Also, are you Italian? Ah & there was another comment that began, "aw crumbs do we have to practise...." :) Seeing which I found my way to 'Why things don't work'. I'm Indian but living in Milan for a while.
Thanks for stopping by. Barry is a very lucid teacher. Vanity in practice, or ego attached to practice can be very subtle, many people never quite figure out how their ego is masking itself inside their devotions.
So instead of rooting ego out and lessening delusion, their spiritual practice keeps them stalled at whatever level they are at, or they digress. Then we all die and do it over again, hopefully in equal or better physical circumstances, which cannot be guaranteed.
No, not I'm not Italian. I live near Chicago right now, but I am originally from Northern California. I do have Northern Italian in my ancestry.
Living in Milan for awhile, lucky you. I managed to get out to Italy and spent about a week traveling there -- spent some time in Venice, then ended up in Nice -- didn't make it to Milan. I'll have to go back, someday. I love Europe.
Glad you checked out my blogs, and thanks for the comment.
